As the mental commands the physical,
so the spiritual commands the material.
For those who have not yet achieved
nothing else seems to satisfy.
For those who have,
nothing else seems to matter.
Art is that journey of the spirit whose
ultimate expression culminates in the abstract.
Like the mystery of life, it can be experienced
but not explained.
Art is not a picture of something,
but, like music, is the thing itself.
Abstract art denies us the comfort
of the familiar,
and instead takes us
to a higher plane of consciousness
where all things are interconnected,
where one cannot disturb a flower
without troubling a star, and
where all things are as they should,
and eventually will, be.
